The Deanery of Buchan

Over the course of time, and at different times, the Deanery of Buchan had eighteen parishes within it, all but one of which were appropriated - five to Arbroath Abbey, seven to the cathedral, three to Deer Abbey, one to Kinloss Abbey, one to the King's College, Aberdeen. The parish of Forvie remained independent throughout the medieval period.
