Map of the Medieval Scottish Diocese

(The map above does not include the Orkney & Shetland Islands since, for much of the Medieval period, they were not part of the Scottish Church but were very much a component of the Norwegian Province under the authority of the Metropolitan Archbishop of Nidaros (Trondheim). For the same reason the Diocese of the Isles, originally part of the Norwegian diocese of Sodor - with its cathedral at Peel on the Isle of Man - is shown shaded separately from the mainland dioceses.)
