Cullicudden

Associated Chapels: Chapelton{NGR NH 709671}.

Parish Church:   OS Ref: NGR NH 646627         H.E.S. No: NH66SW 7       Dedication: St Martin

Anciently called "Sgire a'Mhartinn". Its dedication was to St Martin of Tours.

The parsonage was apparently one of the prebends of Ross erected c.1255/6 although no definite proof of this exists until 1378. Both parsonage and vicarage appear in Bagimond {c.1275} as separate assessments, as they continue to do after certain proof of the prebend's existence is available. This was the prebend of the Sub-Dean by 1589.

St Martin's Well, a natural spring, was located at {NGR NH 6454 6262}.

Cullicudden parish was united with Kirkmichael subsequent to 1688 to form the Parish of Resolis.
